The editors behind Wapitiridgegames

Wapitiridgegames is a small editorial desk of people who have been managing browser football clubs for longer than most of us like to admit. Some of us started with Hattrick on a family computer; others came to the genre through phone apps on long commutes. We all ended up in the same place: arguing about training plans and transfer prices.

We started the site because most reviews of football manager games are written after an hour of play, which tells you almost nothing. The real character of these games appears in the third month, when a youth player finally blossoms or a careful plan collapses under injuries. So we commit to full seasons before we score anything.

Each game is assigned to one editor who runs a club on a free account and keeps a matchday notebook. Scores are argued over as a group, and the arguments are often long. Rowan, who hosts our league matcher, has the final word on ties, mostly because she has been sacked by more browser clubs than anyone else here.

We write from Canada, which means awkward fixture times, plenty of replays and a lot of tactics read during winter evenings. If you play one of these games, or think we have one wrong, we would love to hear from you.

01

A season before a score

No game is scored until an editor has managed a club through a full season of matches, transfers and training on an ordinary free account.

02

Free clubs come first

We judge every game by what a manager who never pays can achieve, and we say plainly what memberships add.

03

Corrections made in daylight

Games change constantly. When readers spot something we got wrong or out of date, we fix it, date it and thank them.
